TO THE CLASS OF 1986

You are the twentieth and final
class to receive diplomas from the
Blue Hills Technical Institute, bring-
ing the total number of post-
secondary students trained at Blue
Hills since 1966 to more than thirty-
two hundred. In future years the
educational programs here will be
administered by Massasoit
Community College. This change-
over, brought about by the merger of
the two schools, highlights an im-
portant lesson for us all to
remember:

What school name is on the front
of the "Institute building or on your
diploma is not really important.
What is important is the education
offered and accepted within the
building and what you, the Class of
1986, do with that education after
you leave.

Take what we have made
available to you, build on it and
develop yourself into the finest
technician and all round person you
can be. As Superintendent Savoie
stated to well at Commencement, in
the future give back whatever you
can to Blue Hills, Massasoit or any
appropriate school where your
knowledge and experience can be
used by others to improve the train-

ing of tomorrow's technical
students!

Use the values and professiona-
lism learned at Blue Hills as the
cornerstone for your future
successes. Build upon them, one
step at a time, always heading
upward, striving to learn and im-
prove. At no time in life does man
reach perfection, and it is the in-
dividual who is never satisfied with
status quo, who reaches the top.

Blue Hills has provided that corner-
stone and started you on the road of
life. The direction you take is now up
to you.

Congratulations to all "Blue Hills
Technical Institute" graduates and
best wishes to each of you for a
peaceful and productive life.
